Thoughts on Social Networking

Social media can be a boon or bane,
Depending on it completely can lead to pain,
What others share on it are some moments of life,
Accepting them as picture-perfect ways of living may lead to unending strife,
Measuring success with what’s provided on social media,
Is definitely a wrong idea,
Please consider WhatsApp forwards with caution,
Remember there can be unforeseen repercussions for your action,
You may like and share news that can be fake,
Without knowing the mess you can make,
Anything provided by social networks — consider them as double-edged swords,
Think thrice before you share those forwards,
Views can’t be treated as news,
Nonsensical stories are shared as authoritative views,
Most of them from unverified sources,
Harm is the intention of such negative forces,
Better not to react on social network platforms under the influence of anger or frustrations,
Sometimes the catastrophe that you may end up causing by a quick reaction will break good
relations,
It’s time to sieve the information you receive,
Don’t completely believe what is out there and don’t be naive,
In the fight to surpass the barriers of confusing algorithms,
Don’t follow for more likes and stop messing with physical and mental rhythms,
Many claim there are various shortcuts,
If your work is good and sensible then it is better to follow your gut,
Sure that this space can provide a lot of inspiration, opportunities and knowledge,
If you carefully avoid and don’t fall into the digital sludge,
Use your power to choose with well-informed judgment,
Forgetting ego, prejudice and ideas that are redundant,
There is scope to learn the subjects that you love,
Following those with credibility would be a good move,
It’s in you that the responsibility lies to turn social media into a source of light,
That can brighten up the hopeless lives even in the darkest night…
